Carolina Foundation Solutions Installs New Fortress Stabilization System’s ICC-ES Carbon Fiber Reinforcement Straps

Carolina Foundation Solutions exclusively carries and installs Fortress Stabilization System’s new ICC-ES certified carbon fiber reinforcement basement wall repair system. The Fortress system is a complete solution that consists of a top anchor, carbon fiber strap and bottom anchor. Unique to this system is the top-anchor, which Fortress was the first company to develop a top-of-wall anchor for basement wall repair.

The dual-anchor Fortress system’s prime advantage is its stronger connection. The top anchor is attached to a rim joist rather than a sill plate to engage the building’s floor system to provide a stronger, more durable anchor. In addition, to ensure that the top anchor and wall are engaged under tension, Fortress is the only company to post-tension the wall anchor after installation.

Moreover, the bottom anchor of the Fortress system surpasses competition by being five times thicker and 125 times stiffer. The bottom anchor has dual legs to prevent against inward wall movement known as shearing. The dual legs also ensure that the connection to the foundation is absolutely secure.

Last but not least, the carbon fiber strap of the Fortress system is second to none. Fortress developed a proprietary manufacturing process that involved a unidirectional method for the carbon strap creating a product twice as strong as products using woven carbon fibers that is the perfect tool for reinforcing foundations. Fortress combines an open grid technology (OFT) with epoxy rivet technology (ERT) that connects to the carbon grid to form a mechanical bond to the wall.

Fortress is the strongest carbon fiber system available with a minimum tensile strength of 234,700 psi.
